The late great Pepper Gomez was one of the first Latino stars of pro wrestling. He was a main event man at the Cow Palace and had many classic matches with Ray "the Crippler" Stevens. I got to know him after he retired and was the maitre de at Scom's on Fisherman's Warf-we used to gig at nearby Lou's. His main shtick was laying out below a ladder and letting guys jump on his stomach-ouch! From the 60's.....
