Here's a little clip of the great Louis Jordan doing "Early in the Morning" in one the late 40's "blacksploitation" film featuring shoot 'em up Western with all back casts.
????????? I suppose with the success of singing cowboy's like Tom Mix, Tex Ritter and Roy Rogers, it seemed natural for Hollywood to create copycat movies during those segregated times. In addition to Louis, the great Herb Jeffries was also a black singing cowboy.
I suspect there's a phD thesis in the implications of this in post-war America but for now.........
