When I was kid in Miami my Dad moonlighted in the Jackie Gleason pit orchestra. Among the many great memories of this era were watching the June Taylor Dancers doing their great pieces of choreography.
If you are old enough to recall the show, Jackie always gave a bow to "Sammy Spear" who always wore an outlandish jacket. While Gleason himself refused to rehearse, no so with the June Taylor troupe who spent hours putting these pieces together.
And somewhere in the mix is the old man on sax and clarinet!
